Ned Diver joined Langer, Grogan & Diver in February 2005. He became a partner in 2008. His practice is focused on complex litigation, consumer law, and antitrust, with a special focus on the intersection of antitrust and patent law in the pharmaceutical industry.
Ned also devotes a substantial amount of time to civil rights and pro bono cases. As part of this practice, he has worked closely with Community Legal Services of Philadelphia on a number of cases. He has also devoted a subtantial amount of time to immigration cases. In 2006, Community Legal Services presented Ned with its Equal Justice Award. In 2007, he received a Pro Bono Award from HIAS & Council Migration Service of Philadelphia.
In 1999 to 2000, Ned clerked for Judge Louis H. Pollak of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. From 2001 to 2003, he clerked for Chief Judge Anthony J. Scirica of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. During the second of his two years with Judge Scirica, Ned served as clerk to the Judge in his capacity as chair of the Judicial Conference's Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure, working closely with several members of the federal rules committees on issues such as class-action reform and the procedures associated with criminal forfeiture.
Ned graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999. A member of the Law Review, Ned was awarded the Lynn Lukins Moore Award, given to the student writing the best paper in jurisprudence. In 2004, Ned received a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania. His dissertation, Institutions and Social Justice, addresses the role of social institutions, especially legal institutions, in achieving social justice, as well as individual responsibilities to comply with the requirements of institutions in seeking justice.
Ned is a director of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, as well as a member of the chapter's legal committee.
