Irv Ackelsberg Honored as Public Interest Advocacy Pioneer

Oct 30, 2024

Congratulations to Irv Ackelsberg who was honored at Rutgers Law School‘s 39th Annual Mary Philbrook Public Interest Award Celebration for his distinguished career in public interest law on October 30, 2024 at the Rutgers University-Camden Campus Center.  Students and alumni were also recognized for their pro bono and public interest contributions. Nearly 150 people attended this year’s event and students participated in a Lunch and Learn with Ackelsberg earlier in the day.

“In these ever-darker days, it was a much-needed moment to celebrate the still-unfolding career of Irv Ackelsberg and to link his inspiring work with the impressive work being done by today’s law students and tomorrow’s lawyers.” John Grogan
