Mary Catherine Roper, co-counsel with the ACLU in its long-running suit over Philadelphia’s stop-and-frisk practices, discusses this racially bias practice in The Inquirer, Shifting Gears on Stop and Frisk and the renewed focus on the debate amongst Philadelphia Mayoral candidates in advance of the election. Mary Catherine drafted for the ACLU a policy paper on the practice in Philadelphia including the history, effectiveness, and the 2010 class action lawsuit against the city over stop and frisk.  Read more on the ACLU of Pennsylvania’s blog here.
